Getting onto Tor
Tor is the only transport you need to reach Crown Market. The browser hides your address and routes traffic through the onion network on its own, so there is no separate app or relay to configure. Everything below runs inside the standard Tor Browser.
- Download the Tor Browser from the project's own site at get.torproject.org. Skip third-party repackaged versions unless you know exactly what you are doing.
- Let the first circuit build. Launch the browser and let the spinner run. A full circuit takes anywhere from five to thirty seconds depending on node health.
- Paste a mirror address. Copy one of the three Crown Market addresses from the mirrors page and paste it into the address bar. Do not type it from memory, because a single typo breaks the path.
- Wait out the queue. A short queue page appears while your client connects. It prevents the server from being overloaded during peak hours and clears on its own.
- You are at the storefront. Once the redirect completes you see the market, and it looks identical no matter which mirror you entered through.
The first visit feels slow on purpose. Tor builds the relay path while the page loads, which creates real lag. If you refresh within the first fifteen seconds you interrupt that build and start the whole cycle again. Waiting once is faster than refreshing three times.
