What a key rotation changes

A key rotation is the market generating a fresh cryptographic identity, and the visible effect is that the old address stops resolving. The shop behind it does not move. Your username, your balance and your order history all stay attached to the account, not to the link.

Only the web path changes. Any bookmark that pointed at the previous address dies at the moment the rotation completes, which is why a saved link can fail overnight with nothing wrong at all. The new string is published here, and the old one is dropped from the list once it stops answering.

Think of a rotation as the shop moving to a new street number while keeping the same fittings. Nothing is lost, but you do need the updated address to get in.
